Cyclists can start the Salt & Lakes Tour (south loop) right in front of our gusthouse.

Go Swimming


The lake Bürgerausee is ideal for swimming. It is located in the center Kuchls, has a size of 2.5 hectares and the entrance is free. Amenities at the lake are:

  • Plenty of room to lay your towel on the lawns and piers around the lake
    Trees and shady areas
  • Playground with swings and climbing equipment for kids
  • Gravel area with water toys
  • Rope swing over the water
  • Volleyball court, climbing centre, skate park
  • Kneipp therapy area
  • Stand with drinks, snacks and ice cream
  • Changing rooms and toilets
  • Plenty of parking on-site



Sport and hobby fishers can follow their pelasure from 1 March to 30 November at the lake Bürgerausee and the Salzach river. The types of fish are salmonids, pike, sheatfish, silver carp, European carp, rainbow trout, river trout, char and huchen.

Sporting challenges of a different kind are surfing and kayaking on the Kuchler Schwall in the Salzach river. Find out more.
